PCOMP - Playtest

Updated: Dec 18, 2019

We tried etching different colors and kinds of acrylic sheets and tested them with light. After the experiment, we learned that clear transparent acrylic sheet would be the best option for the effect that we want.

Playtesting:

For this play test, we etched 2 acrylic with interlocking patterns. For the final piece we wanted to put LED strips under them and have the patterns interact with the users. Our idea was that when 2 people place their hands on the same place, the pattern will light up.

We learned that users were often confused and didn’t know what the interaction was. We had to come up with a new design that would convey our idea better and also give a better user experience.
